Sun City Center residents have a pivotal opportunity to empower and unite with the Save Sun City Center team on Saturday, Oct. 10. Save Sun City Center (Save SCC) will host its monthly “Second Saturday Open House” meeting, highlighting this event as the single best moment for residents to complete their resident authorization forms—allowing Save SCC to represent our community with one strong, unified voice.

The meeting will take place in the Heritage and Armstrong rooms at the Central Campus Atrium building, 951 North Course Lane.

By completing the resident authorization form, residents help Save SCC secure official certification as a recognized “neighborhood organization” with Hillsborough County. This certification provides Save SCC with formal legal standing to receive early notices, zoning details, and actively participate in county reviews regarding proposed developments on local golf courses.

“To protect our community, property values, and quality of life, we need to speak with one voice,” said Ellie Anderson, President of Save SCC. “Completing the resident authorization form is the most critical action any neighbor can take right now. Attending our Oct. 10 Second Saturday Open House is the easy, convenient way to submit your form, stay informed, and ensure your household is counted and get your questions addressed. Bring your neighbors along!”

Save SCC must obtain authorization from more than 50 percent of the approximately 6,700 households in Sun City Center before seeking its “Authorized Neighborhood Organization” designation from Hillsborough County. Once our goal in SCC CA geography is achieved, outreach and certification will expand to certify Kings Point’s geography. All KP and SCC residents and property owners can complete the form in person at the Oct. 10 event, submit it digitally at savescc.org, or sign up to serve as volunteer “block captains” to help collect signatures from neighbors in their local association or neighborhood.

The open house event will be hosted by Barbara Allen, chairperson of Save SCC’s legal and zoning team, who will answer questions regarding zoning and potential legal strategies. Ellie Anderson, who is recovering from shoulder replacement surgery following a bad fall, also plans to attend.

In addition to completing authorization forms, attendees can get promotional materials—including official Save SCC T-shirts, yard signs, and window clings—to show community solidarity. Volunteers will also be on hand to accept donations for legal funds and assist with volunteer sign-ups. Save SCC flyers and other materials will also be available to share with your associates.
